Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons cream of tartar
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 2 teaspoons cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, cream together butter and 1 1/2 cups sugar until smooth. Beat in eggs one at a time.
  3. In another bowl, combine flour, cream of tartar, baking soda, and salt; gradually add to the creamed mixture and mix well.
  4. In a small bowl, combine 2 tablespoons sugar and cinnamon. Shape dough into 1-inch balls and roll in the cinnamon-sugar mixture.
  5. Place 2 inches apart on ungreased baking sheets.
  6. Bake for 8-10 minutes or until set. Remove to wire racks to cool.
